This week in Maths, the children have been learning to divide fractions by whole numbers. They have also completed some mathematics tests which will continue next week, along with reading and SPaG tests.

Reading comprehension homework is due on Monday next week, when another one will be sent home. Children have also taken home the words for the Year 5 St Peter’s Fest song. This week has been particularly busy for Year 5. On Tuesday we went to church and led the worship about the gifts of the Holy Spirit – many thanks to all of the parents who accompanied us on our walk. On Wednesday we all enjoyed an active sports day and we’ve had two lessons of fencing this week. This morning we received a visit from Father Jeremy to discuss the Sacraments and Holy Orders in particular.

This week Sienna Brown (5E) received the golden leaf award for improving her mathematics knowledge and being a good friend. Hannah Maple (5E) has her writing displayed on the showstoppers wall. Troy Tyler (5T) received the golden leaf award for improved effort and achievement. Kristopher Baker (5T) has his writing on the showstopper wall.

Have a relaxing weekend,

The Year 5 team
