Friday 3rd November, 2017

This week the children have been reading and interpreting timetables. Many of them found it quite challenging to work out time differences so it would be useful to practise this. For example: if a television programme starts at 9:15 and lasts for 1 hour and 40 minutes, at what time will it finish? In English, they have continued to use the subject of extreme sports while learning about different sentence types. They will need their research on an extreme sport for Monday so please make sure this has been completed.

Your child should have received spelling homework on Monday and a long spelling list and leaflet on Tuesday. Please make sure they complete the set task and work on the list steadily.

Today the whole school enjoyed a History deep learning day. Year 5 looked at the contribution that women made to the war effort.

The letter for Fort Nelson went home on Thursday and needs to be returned by Friday 10th November. Please could you let us know if you are able to help on the day.

This week Anna-Louise Heathcote (5E) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her for being a very happy, caring and helpful member of the class’ and Jack Jordan (5E) has his writing displayed on the showstoppers wall. Cecelia Crocker (5T) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her to listen well and improve her work following advice.’ Yohan Jossey (5T) has his work on the showstoppers wall too.

Have a relaxing weekend and enjoy the fireworks.
