This week the children have been developing their understanding of converting between units of measure and they have completed their LAST half termly PAM test. In English, they have been encouraged to decide upon the purpose, audience and layout for their final piece of writing (Ancient Egypt theme).
For homework the children have 6 spellings from a test that was completed this week; Mymaths, they need to complete a section from the homework pyramid and research their chosen topic area for Literacy. This homework is due by next Friday (7th July). Children are more than welcome to bring their homework in early if they have completed it.
This week Joana Lopez De Sousa (5E) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her for always being a lovely member of the class’ and Lauren Forssman (5E) has her writing displayed on the showstoppers wall. Sophie Barker (5F) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her to support her friends and cheer them up.’ Jeffrey Mamman Mathew (5F) has his work on the showstoppers wall too.
Thank you to all parents, carers and friends who came to support the children at Sports Day. We were very lucky with the weather, the rain arriving much later than expected and all the children seemed to have had an enjoyable morning of activities.
We’ve attached some photos of the Science activities that the children have participated in at Oaklands over the past couple of weeks.
Have a lovely weekend,
