Week 3 – 17th March 2017

This week the children have been developing their understanding of: dividing 3 and 4 digit numbers using the short division method, and solving a range of different problems involving multiplication and division. In English, they have been: investigating the features of a persuasive piece of text, planning their persuasive letter which will involve encouraging a human to visit Pandora, using modal verbs, adverbs of possibility and pronouns correctly within sentences.

For homework the children have 6 spellings from their work books, Mymaths and need to complete another section from the homework pyramid. This homework is due by next Friday (24th March). Children are more than welcome to bring their homework in early if they have completed it.

This week Freddie Dunaway (5E) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave him to make small changes and work really hard’ and Matthew Evans (5E) has his writing displayed on the showstoppers wall. Blake Morgan (5F) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave him to be a polite and thoughtful member of the class’. Saoirse Lehane (5F) has her work on the showstoppers wall too.

Have a brilliant weekend,

The Year 5 team
