Our learning this week

In English we have introduced our new topic ‘How to keep safe in the sun.’ The children have already found out lots of information about the importance of looking after ourselves in the sun and why. They are looking forward to writing letters to the headteachers around the local areas to inform them on how to keep their children safe.

In maths we have been using positional language. They have enjoyed acting as robots using mathematical language to direct their friends around the room.

Language includes:

clockwise, anti- clockwise, quarter- turn, half- turn, three- quarter turn and full turn.

Please encourage your children to practise using this language at home.

In RE the children have retold the Easter story. Here are some photos of them acting out what the disciples would have said when they saw the empty tomb:

Have a lovely weekend.

Year 2 team.

Welcome back!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter break. The children have come back with an excellent working attitude. They have been busy writing lots of facts about Kenya ready to publish their own information sheet next week in English.

In maths the children have been focusing on using multiplication and division facts to solve problems which they have really enjoyed this week.

Please encourage your children to continue practising their 2’s, 3’s, 5’s and 10’s times table to help with their mental fluency.

2A have just started singing lessons during music time on a Monday morning. They shall look forward to performing another concert to you later this term.

Hope you all have a pleasant weekend.

From the year 2 team.
