This week the children have been finding equivalent fractions and writing decimal fractions on a place value grid, rounding decimals and trying to solve problems involving decimals. They have been given some homework related to finding numbers between decimals. In English, they have been broadening their vocabulary about space, gathering information about Pandora (a fictional moon) and writing using descriptive language.

Please continue to work on the spelling lists sent home, using the strategies given. Go over the recent list of spellings that were sent home to ensure they have been learnt correctly.

5E are really enjoying their swimming sessions, practising a variety of strokes and breathing techniques.

This week Charlie Cripps (5E) received the golden leaf award for his commitment to learning how to swim and Chloe Lymer (5E) has her writing displayed on the showstoppers wall. Liam Emery (5T) received the golden leaf award for making a great effort in maths and Aoife Hatch (5T) has her writing on the showstoppers wall too.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Year 5 team
